What habit or routine are you working on improving the most right now?
Jonathan: The main routine I've been working on is my "PT". At this point I don't even think I'd call it PT since the practitioners I work with don't even have licenses, they're just people I find on YouTube that have experience relevant to my problems. I pay them to do Skype sessions with me and create programs for me.
For the last month I've been doing this program that this guy (Shane Dowd) created for me. It takes at least an hour to do every day. It doesn't even include my actual workout. It's a big commitment but I've definitely seen results so far so I'm optimistic. I like getting up at 6am and just going right into it before work.
Bird: Working out. I'm getting a little chub chub
Jacob: My LSAT score
Ashira: Breaking out of my suuuugar addiction
Alisha: Meal prepping to help with that portion control that I seem to lack
Ariel: Not getting in trouble
Judi: Being patient with what I cannot immediately have
Kerry: So many things. The big one is focusing on resolving some existing back pain and eating better.
What's an interesting conversation you recently had?
Jonathan:Candace and I had an interesting conversation about how enthusiasm beats discipline. In fact, I think discipline is a borderline useless and definitely unsustainable concept to live life by. Where you see extreme discipline is actually just the manifestation of extreme enthusiasm. Since discipline is just a product of enthusiasm, I think it's generally unproductive to tell yourself any narrative of what you "should" do. It will never be enough. It's likely a distraction from the underlying problem.
Bird: How to make a resume
Jacob: I talked to Justin about stocks and it was interesting to learn about
Ashira: A conversation about trying decide if/when/where I would want to move to a new city for a few yearsHow to make a resume

6 qt water, plus more as needed
2 lb beef shank
6 scallions, halved crosswise, divided
8 slices fresh ginger, divided
6 pods star anise, divided
½ cup vegetable oil
6 cloves garlic
2 red chiles, halved lengthwise

☎️ Phone a Friend
Ariel: Sell or hold TSLA?!
Justin: I'm moving next month. Who is free to help me? I'll treat you with dinner, I promise!
Jonathan: I got two job offers (WOOT!)
Currently, I'm leaning towards the first one since it seems to have more work-life balance but the second offer is INSANE. Can I get a few of y'all on a call to help me make this decision? Insights appreciated. 🙏 🙏 🙏
